The Local Government Association (LGA) has undergone a significant transformation in the past year, which means that our services can continue to support the needs of councils in the changing political and economic climate within which we all operate. Our work on regulatory policy has now been placed at the heart of the LGA, meaning that local regulatory services can benefit from strong political engagement, cross cutting work with other policy areas and the wealth of experience that the LGA has in public affairs on the national stage.
Environmental health, trading standards and licensing services perform an invaluable role within local communities by protecting the public and supporting businesses. The LGA recognises the importance of these services and we are fully committed to working with councils and partners to provide effective representation and support to regulatory services moving forward.
The LGA would like to thank councils for all their support for LG Regulation over the years.
