Applications for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) 2010 Food Champion Awards must be submitted by March 31st 2010. The awards are open to all councils in England and Wales.

The Awards aim to recognise and celebrate councils that have shown innovation and real leadership in their work to improve food safety and standards locally, or to improve the diet and nutrition of people in their communities.

The 2010 awards include a streamlined application process through a new partnership with Food Vision. All you need to do to apply to be a Food Champion is complete the simple online Food Vision case study form. This makes the application process simpler for councils and shares best practice in a timely manner.

The Food Champion shortlist will now be selected from local authority initiatives submitted by councils via the Food Vision website by 31st March 2010.
