Northamptonshire County Council’s recently retired, head of trading standards and LACORS representative, Bryan Lewin, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s honours list.  The award recognises the effort and hard work that he has put into protecting people, both locally and nationally and promoting the excellent work done by councils’ trading standards services.

Bryan continues to be involved at the highest levels, he is currently working for LACORS and is a Trading Standards Institute lead officer. He was previously a Chairman of the Trading Standards Institute. He has a wealth of legal knowledge and experience to draw from when helping trading standards to help local people.

Bryan said: "Being awarded an MBE is a tremendous personal honour. But it would not have been possible without the support and assistance that I’ve received from my colleagues and councillors over the years - not forgetting, of course, my family.

“After 40 years in Trading Standards it always heartens me to see the real difference we can make to people’s lives.”
